A Womans Best friend by Lynne-Abley-Burton A Womans Best friend by Lynne-Abley-Burton
This is a photo of one of our little bits of heaven - our toy poodle Betsy who is a delight! She is a gorgeous little dog  and I love her so much

I have used my new camera for this portrait - yesterday we were visiting relatives for Nicks nirthday and my sister-in-law gave me a camera she didnt use - it is a Canon EOS 350D - I have to learn how to use it now and this is one of my practice shots - I LOVE this camera - it came with a zoom lens and a portrait one too x

I would like to thank you in advance for any faves you might leave for this photo - I appreciate it very much x

Whoa wait, she just gave you the camera? :faint:
I know the lighting conditions may not have been good but I find it best to avoid flash when possible. You need to get Betsy in more light and you will see a great different without the flash :aww:

Yes! She just gave me it out of the blue - she wanted it to be used and she knew I would use it - thanks for the tip about the light - I will remember that one x

LOL! I know it's a Poodle,
but I swear it's looks like you have a Bichon with Bouvier colors [link] ! ;)

LUCKY YOU - sure, it's an older one, but a 350D still a very nice cam.

I always think that about Betsy - she has the curly tail and the build too - it's just she is black - well grey really!

She was a rescue girl so we have no pedigree or anything but she came through the poodle rescue society - a black Bichon-poo! haha thanks - you were spot on! x

That's a cracking ';practice shot!' :D If canon lenses are a bit rich for you, try Sigma - I have a wide angle, macro and a telephone lens and I love them

Yes! I am not manual reader myself either! I have "played" with it quite a bit today and feel a bit more familiar with it x

Excellent :)
I have had mine for nearly 2 years now. In bloom [link] was 1 of the first photos I ever took with it
Yesterday I purchased the battery grip off ebay for my 350D (it is not original canon but looks identical) [link] The 4th picture on this site is of the 350D with the battery grip

I was embarrassed, but she said it had been stuck in the cupboard for about 6 years and she knows that I am into art and photography and all, so wanted me to have it - she just wants a little digital camera to put in her pocket - Nick is making a gate for them (welding wrought iron) and so we aremaking that for free for them with no charge to balance it slightly cos altogether I think I have about £800 worth of gear here x
